How to activate Facebook dating?
What You Should Know
The dating feature on Facebook combines the best features of dating apps like Bumble and Tinder with the world's most popular social media platform. Here's how to turn it on so you can start making matches. This article only applies to the Facebook mobile app for iOS and Android.
1. How to Activate Facebook Dating
To get started with Facebook Dating, follow these steps:
TIP: Add more information, photos, and even Instagram posts to your Facebook Dating profile. When you're finished, tap Done.
2. What Is Facebook Dating?
Through the global social network, Facebook Dating aims to assist people in making romantic connections. You don't need to create a separate dating profile; Facebook will recommend potential matches based on shared interests based on the information on your current profile. Your profile will also be recommended to other Facebook Dating users.
Facebook's dating feature, like Bumble and Tinder, does not allow you to message other users until you both express interest in each other. The app will not recommend any of your current Facebook friends. Similarly, your dating profile will be hidden from your friends who use the feature. Friends, on the other hand, can add each other to their list of secret crushes, so you could match with a friend if they have a crush on you.
Important: To access Facebook Dating, users must be 18 years old or older (according to their profile).
3. How Does Facebook Dating Work?
You must first create a Facebook account before you can begin using Facebook Dating. Because the dating feature uses information from your regular profile, you should fill it out as completely as possible. There is no separate Facebook Dating app or site; the feature is built into the Facebook mobile app.
Pictures and other content shared through Facebook Dating are not visible on your regular Facebook profile. Conversations on Facebook Dating are also kept separate from conversations on Facebook Messenger. You can still see someone's dating profile if you become Facebook friends with them after matching with them on Facebook Dating.

Note: The dating feature is not available on Facebook's website, but there is a page for frequently asked questions about Facebook Dating.
4. How to Use Facebook Dating?
Profiles will be recommended by Facebook Dating one at a time. You can view your recommendations at any time by going to the Dating section of the Facebook app.
5. How to Adjust the Facebook Dating Settings?
A few settings changes will affect how the Facebook Dating app works for you.
6. Facebook Dating Secret Crushes
The secret crush feature allows you to match with your Facebook friends and Instagram followers. Scroll to the bottom of the screen, where Facebook suggests profiles, and click on Secret Crush.
Then you can choose friends from Facebook and Instagram. If they have Facebook Dating set up, they will receive a notification that someone has a crush on them, but they will not know who. You will be matched if they also add you to their secret crushes.
7. How to Delete a Facebook Dating Profile?
You can delete your Facebook Dating profile without deleting your regular Facebook profile, but doing so will remove you from Facebook Dating.
Note: You must wait seven days after deleting a Facebook Dating profile before creating a new one.
8. Facebook Dating Safety
Always tell a friend where you're going before meeting someone you met online in person. It's also a good idea to communicate with them via text or Facebook messenger so they know you're okay. If you want to prevent a user from contacting you or viewing your profile, you can do so in the Facebook Dating settings by going to the General tab.
