Most young couples who experience infertility choose IVF, according to a study
Young
couples in the age range of 25 to 35 who are experiencing infertility are now
choosing "In Vitro Fertilization" (IVF) treatments, according to the
results of research involving more than 2000 respondents in Mumbai and other
major cities throughout the nation.
The
study was carried out by "Pristyn Care," who also deduced that even
after unsuccessful IVF cycles, 60% of respondents would undergo another cycle
because the couples rely on the overstated claims made by IVF clinics and
centres regarding their success rates and results that are frequently
deceptive.
The
study's other findings showed that while undergoing IVF procedures, about 74%
of couples experience anxiety about a normal pregnancy, poor success rates, and
twin pregnancies.
The
study found that bad eating patterns, lack of regular exercise, obesity, work
stress, PCOD, and STDs are all lifestyle-related causes of rising infertility
rates.
In
addition, 58% of respondents believe that women make the majority of decisions
about IVF therapy. According to the report, 60% of respondents—men and
women—have stated that they will choose another cycle even after unsuccessful
ones, regardless of the expense.
According
to the study's findings, 61% of respondents claimed they would choose IVF
centres based on their aggressive marketing strategies. Since fertility therapy
is a personal journey, 27% of respondents answered that after thorough doctor
consultation, they would select an IVF fertility facility and treatment.
Dr
Garima Sawhney, co-founder and gynaecologist, commented on the findings,
saying, "We recently forayed into IVF and get about 5,000 inquiries every
month. Due to growing worries about infertility and family planning, more women
are requesting maternity care and IVF treatment.
"When
couples choose treatment at our centres, comprehensive treatment planning is
provided by our industry experience, ability to design practical family
planning solutions through IVF, thorough doctor consultations, and
individualised care.”
