A
worldwide concert featuring K-pop superstar BTS will boost South Korea's bid to
host the 2030 World Expo in Busan. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been
signed between the city of Busan and HYBE Labels for the promotion of the
"Busan World Expo 2030," according to a press release.
In
accordance with the agreement, BTS will host the Global Busan Concert and act
as an ambassador for the "Busan World Expo 2030."
BTS
and HYBE will use all reasonable efforts to bring the World Expo to Busan,
given the significance of its proposal as a country to host the World Expo in
2030. This will be a fantastic opportunity to support the growth of K-Culture
and its regional pop cultures in Busan, according to HYBE Chairman Bang
Si-Hyuk.
The
septet which is RM, Jin, Suga, J. Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkok, was commended by
Park Heong-Joon, the mayor of Busan Metropolitan City, for agreeing to serve as
the ambassadors of the World Expo 2030 in Busan.
He
continued, the group's assistance as ambassadors will be very beneficial in
stepping up our efforts to attract the World Expo to Busan.
According
to a South Korean news source, Busan, South Korea's second-largest city,
has been actively promoting its bid to host the 2030 World Expo.
Every
five years, millions of people travel to the host city to attend the World
Expo, which lasts six months.
Due
to the coronavirus epidemic, the last World Expo was delayed and hosted in
Dubai from October 1, 2021, to March 31, 2022.
The
group's performance news was released just a few days after BTS revealed they
would be taking a hiatus to concentrate on separate projects.
