Maternity and Paternity Leave and Why is it important for children?

War is to a man what maternity is to a woman. I do not believe in perpetual peace from a philosophical and doctrinal viewpoint.

Maternity leave is leave taken by a mother when she gives birth or adopts the child and it can last

up to 1 to 2 years. The duration depends on many factors such as your location, your company's paid leave policies, your qualifications for unpaid benefits under the Family & Medical Leave Act(FMLA).

Unfortunately, the U.S. is one of only six countries in the world – and the only mandated paid family leave policy. The legislature has made the policy of four weeks of paid family leave (which would include both maternity leave and paternity leave) but we have a long way to go.

The Matter of Maternity Leave

In simple words, maternity leave is the leave that mothers take to take care of their newborn and use it to bond and recover from childbirth because it affects the mother mentally and physically and takes time to heal.

According to research, maternity leave is advantageous for both a mother and child – it's related to a lower IMR rate, increased immunization of breastfeeding, better bonding between mother-baby Bonding, and boosted postpartum mental health. It also gives perks to employers, such as long stay, trust in the company, and better performance.

The DURATION

The perks of maternity leave vary from how much unpaid leaves you can afford, laws, corporations, etc.

The average duration of maternity leave is up to a few days to 1 year depending on what benefits you

have.  A study found that the average time off for working U.S. women after having a baby is

10 weeks.

The duration and other factors depend on various factors such as location, enterprises , financial stability, government policies etc.

Generally it lasts for a few weeks to a whole year.It can be also unpaid or paid depends on how much leaves you have taken and how much is left.

A survey found that the average time off for working Sadly 60 percent of U.S. employees are covered under FMLA benefits (more on that below), if they even have the means to take it.

Hence all these can help you easy and smooth navigation for your maternity leave and solve all your queries and be free from stress.

All mothers cannot afford paid leaves as their financial system doesn’t allow so it needs proper planning through discussion with family, boss, and seniors for a leave that suits you and your finance without any hassle.

any reason like illness, injury, or childbirth. Many enterprises and unions use it as a part of health insurance policies and it can be accessed through insurance providers also.

Maternity and child

Maternity leave is equally important for children as it increases health benefits, immunization by breastfeeding, it also develops a great bond and has a positive psychological effect on the child.
