Sikh Heroes: The Real Story Behind “12 Baj Gaye”

Are you the one of the many who ridicules Sardar (Sikh) by saying “12 baj gaye”? If you don’t leave a single chance to make them feel degraded, then you will stop doing that when you’ll get to know the real truth behind 12 BAJ GAYE.

Sardars (Sikhs) have been involved in wars, sports, politics and they have made history that no one has.  And they continue to give their sweat and blood to build our nation strong.

2

Aurangzeb was considered to be the cruelest leader, he even forced Kashmiri Pandits to convert to Islam, and they turned to Guru Teg Bahadur who welcomed them with open hands. Because of this reason, Guru was captured by Aurangzeb and was then executed by Aurangzeb in Chandni Chowk, Delhi.

3

Nader Shah was a Persian Invader. He invaded India in the 1700s for wealth and fame. His armies passed through Punjab and plundered and looted Delhi. They captured around 2,200 Indian women who were to be taken back to Persia.  Only Sikhs were the ones who came forward to execute those women and make them reach their homes safely. This action plan of Sardars used to be executed at nights, and the cruel people degrade them by saying, 12 Baj Gaye.

The Commander of Sikh Army, Sardar Jassa Singh was brave hearted and they decided to attack the camp but at midnight when most of the army of Nader Shah was in deep sleep. They attacked the Camp despite being so few in numbers and took out all the captive women saving from any dishonor. They were going to be sold in the Abdal Market of Persia.

There is deep and beautiful history behind 12 baj gaye story, and even Supreme Court banned the jokes on Sardars.  Guru Teg Bahadur’s sacrifice is one of the few examples in which a man died for the sake of others religions.

So, next time you crack a joke on Sardars, just remember their sacrifice and realise that they were there to protect our ancestors when you or others were not.

Savitribai Phule : Smash Traditions – Liberate

Savitribai Phule was the first female teacher who was rebellious about the notions related to women. ‘Awake, arise and educate, smash traditions – Liberate’ these words were written by her. Now we understand how much pain she must have gone through in this fight as initially she was the only woman rebelling. She lived at a place in Maharashtra and married at the age of 9 to Jyotirao Phule who is now termed as an Ideal husband. When they were married Jyotirao Phule knew that Savitri loved to study so he helped her thoroughly in her education. Then later they both together started the movement of reformation in their village. She along with her husband opened schools for girls in Pune. It was a time when British invaders were already exploiting and at that time Peshwa was the ruler of Maharashtra. People were used to Brahmin conventions at that time and it was a complete male dominated notion that they were into.

2

How male dominated world worked:

Girls were forced to marry at the earliest age possible. Girls were forced to marry an old person, which counts as Child marriage. Women were treated no less than an animal.

Widows were treated like a piece of trash. They were forced to shave their heads and wear white sarees FLAB (for life and beyond). They were even restricted in every sense – fashion, food, dress up and what not.

Girl education was nowhere existed and it was against their culture because they say that if a girl studies she becomes a poison for her husband’s food. I mean, how can that be true practically? Women were not allowed to re-marry even after death of their husbands, all the shit related to women getting married again is a sin was termed under SATI SYSTEM. Women were made to live under the four walls of home and were entitled to do domestic chores only.

3

According to male dominated society of that time women were only for physical pleasures and WOMEN WERE CONSIDERED HELPFUL FOR TAKING THE GENERATION TO NEXT LEVEL AS THEY CARRY SOME FUCKING HORMONES.

Under all these circumstances Savitribai completed her education where her husband was her teacher and he was the one who asked Savitribai to utilize her education as a medium to illuminate the darkness of society. She has become social reformer and tried all her efforts for education girl child and all the women around her. She faced a lot of criticism and exploitation herself but somewhere the thought of educating women has come into people’s mind. She got beaten up by hundreds of men but her determination to educate thousands of women couldn’t stop her from those hundreds of men.

4

She is a real hero of what we call feminism today. Her step of ruining her life has paid off in us being educated. If she hadn’t taken those steps then we wouldn’t have come long this way. We should be greatful to her for keeping us away from the circumstance the women of that time had been through. But somewhere the fight she started has not ended yet and we need more Savitribai for making this world believe that women are no less than men. It is a shame on those who believe this false statement.

Kangana and Hrithik: never ending tantrums

We all know about the recent tantrums happened between Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut. We couldn’t come out of the drama and Kangana’s new movie trailer tickled the topic again.

The questions are being asked everywhere on the social media that-

Did Kangana Ranaut’s #Manikarnika copy a dialogue from Roshan’s #MahenjoDaro?

2

The trailer of Manikarnika has the same dialogue that Roshan’s Mahenjo Daro had in his trailer.

Ranaut says in the climax- “Jhansi aap bhi chahte hai aur mein bhi, fark sirf itna hai, aapko raj karna hai, aur mujhe apno ki seva.” (You and I both want Jhansi, however, you want to rule and I want to serve), seemed to be quite similar to the scene from Roshan’s movie. In response to Kabir Bedi’s question in Mohenjo Daro, “Kya antar hai tujh mein aur mujh mein?” Roshan’s character responds, “Antar hai Maham, tu Mohenjo Daro pe raaj karna chahta hai aur main seva.”

3

Now people are pointing out the similarity in both the trailers and also to the bitter relationship of Kangana and Hrithik. One of the user has shared this video highlighting the similarity in the dialogue of both the movies-

Male Harassment: How Serious Are We About It

Even google can’t pop up the harassment of men, then how can the world get to know that any inappropriate actions done to men are also harassment.

2

You may take it as a joke when a gay or any guy touches another guy inappropriately without his consent but it is harassment.

Why don’t we understand the real meaning of equality?

Equality is when you give equal rights to both men and women & any wrong thing or action done to both of them is wrong. People are degrading the real meaning of feminism by spreading the other wrong concepts. Nowadays, being a feminist means you consider women superior to men and what everything is done by men is wrong. NO. Feminism is equality; no one is superior to the other gender.

3

Despite the consequences that cause from sexual harassment whether it involves men or women, harassment is wrong. And harassment done on men is never taken seriously. It is being taken as a fun. Women deal with sexual harassment and there are a growing number of cases of both men and women harassing male employees have emerged and isn’t taken up that seriously.

4

If we stand for the women, that doesn’t mean that we want to degrade men. We want equality between both of them and that should be the real motto of everyone’s life.  Safety of both the genders is necessary.

People should be aware of harassment among men & women both and also give proper knowledge to the people about what actually feminism is.

Some men don’t report about being sexually harassed because they’re afraid of being mocked and this is what our society does. When it’s done to women they show their fake grief and don’t take any further actions to stop that and when it’s being done to men, they take it as a joke.

The question is where is Humanity? Only humanity can lead to Equality and this is how the mind-sets of society grow.

What causes RAPE?

So men find the woman a seducer just because you can see her cleavage?

So the women are objects for men’s contentment?

Touching a woman without her consent is rape. There is no any other explanation, no any other justification that a man can touch a woman just because he’s her spouse or her boyfriend.

2

As the girls grow older, they get used to these things and being a woman we inherit what is dictated to us-

~ Avoid drinking around men, you’ll get raped.

~ Avoid flaunting your body, you’ll get raped.

~ Don’t enjoy so much, you’ll get pregnant.

~ Don’t roam around at night, girls are not safe. (Khuli hui Tijori ho tum)

~ We should stop living instead, no? Haha!

We are told strangers are dangerous but, Can you please marry a stranger you don’t know? We are told “Aise hi Hota hai” even if our husbands try to get intimate even if we say NO.

Strangers are dangerous but our families don’t have any idea that the place in which we are living is also not safe for us.

The women are getting safety tips all over the world ~ Watch your drinks, you may let someone rape you. Watch your boundaries; you may be giving men the wrong signals for your character.

3

Why don’t we tell men to control their lust for women and be well mannered? Why can’t, men respect a simple NO from women? Men feel superior to women and they think it is a woman’s right to make them feel content just for their pleasure.

Said by a judge, what we can expect from other humans then –

4

Blame the Rapists, Not the Victims!

As they say TIME is the biggest power of all. We ourselves don’t know where we will be in next second and NITA AMBANI is the best example for this. #MOTHER: GOD IN DISGUISE

Coming back to home our eyes always search for this person and we come up with the question “Where is MOM?” Imagining our life without her for only 5 minutes is no less than a horror movie. She is the most precious human being one could get and we often take her for granted. But when the time comes and we realize her importance, she becomes our past.

Even private offices give one day off but Mother is the one who gets no holiday. Still, she does not beseech for it because she never takes her work as a burden rather her love for us. One can grab all the knowledge from their experiences but the lessons given by a MOTHER are nowhere to find. One cannot learn those lessons in a class as no teacher is worth teaching them. She keeps everyone before her and teaches us how to value others selflessly.

2

There is only one person in this entire world who loves without T&C applied and that is our Mother. She plays the role of a mother, daughter, wife, sister and what comes in, flawlessly, but we somewhere do not do justice to her. When we know that someone is going to stay forever with us we start degrading the value of that person in our lives and this is the same thing we do with our mothers. She never demands anything from us but she really wants to be loved and get the same respect as any other member of the family. But don’t we think that she deserves all the happiness of this world, then why do we lack in giving one?

3

We can learn so many moral life lessons just by observing our Mother. Nobody can teach “how to be selfless, how to love unconditionally, how to respect your work irrespective of getting anything in return, not expecting anything and many more” better than our own MOTHER. She never gets anything for what she does but it has to be our responsibility to become a person she feels proud of.

4

Nobody is more connected to us than a mother as our connection starts before 9 months of coming into this world. We all have seen GOD in her disguise. So, after reading this article just call your mom and ask her how she’s doing, tell her how much you love her and how thankful you are to god for her existence. You have no idea how grateful she feels after that.

THE $100 MILLION WEDDING, AIN’T ACCEPTABLE!

The season wedding is on, now everyone’s eye is on Isha Ambani and Anand Pirmal’s wedding. It is gonna be India’s most expensive wedding. The couple is going to tie the knot on December 12, 2018.  Isha Ambani’s wedding with a hashtag is getting rolled all over the social media.

The invitees in the pre-wedding festival were the International stars and Bollywood celebrities. Their performances were fire to the fuel and the flame made the festival go amazing.

2

But what are the standards that are being set by rich people or celebrities? Are these expensive wedding really acceptable?

It is acceptable that it’s their money and they are the ones who need to decide how and where to spend it but the chairman of Reliance Industries Ltd. overtook Jack Ma this year as Asia’s wealthiest man.

3

Spending money is totally their call but it is our money in their hands in one way or the other, even if they are spending so much for the celebration, their eyes should also be on the parents who can’t even afford to get their daughter married. The ones who can’t afford to buy a home.

There is no such wrong thing that you, being Asia’s wealthiest man should have some responsibility towards the poor people of the country.

If these rich people of our country start working for the welfare of the people and give a thought to poverty then this country will be no more with more poor people.

It is their responsibility that if they are capable of earning this much money then this money should be used for good causes too.

Grand celebrations are amazing but it is more amazing to use the money for the good causes and the welfare of the people.

#TripleTalaq: The Theory Of Divorce

  • What does the Quran say about the Muslim woman’s hijab?

Muslim men don’t want women to know their power. If we go back to the time long before the modern conventions, to a time where Prophet Mohammad was given a task of finding a solution to the women being attacked, molested or harassed. If a woman was wearing a Jilbab (a garment like a coat), the man is supposed to leave her alone as Jilbab is like a status and it makes a woman free and a free woman is meant to be protected but if a woman wasn’t wearing a Jilbab then the men knew that the woman is a slave and they attacked her. This problem was gone to the Prophet Mohammad who faced many social and political situations at that time.

2

“*Oh Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) over their bodies. That is most convenient that they could be known as such(i.e. decent & chaste) and not be molested. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.*”

The philosophy of work “TALAQ” recited by the men thrice. What after that?

It just takes three words to decide a woman’s fate of life forever, it exploits her life. It can be recited verbally or in written form. And what after the Talaq (divorce) that the husband wants to re-marry her? The Muslim laws are followed and the women alone get torn between the past and the present. It shows the absolute power of the Muslim men that they can disown their wives without her consent and even without the consent of the court.

Nikah Halala is practised by the Muslims in which a female divorcee marries someone else, consummates the marriage and then gets a divorce in order to make it allowable to remarry her previous husband.

3

According to the Quran:

Verily, Allah loves a house in which a wedding is held and hates a house in which a divorce is conducted and there is nothing more hateful than divorce.

If divorce is such a sin in the culture of Islam but having sexual relations with another man just to re-marry his wife again is not a sin? Is it acceptable to ruin the life of that woman? And why a woman has not got the right to divorce if her husband beats her, makes life hard on her, curses her. Is it acceptable to tell her to have patience and tolerate and bear it until her death arrives? These are not the rhetorical questions of this society; this is the real truth behind these questions.

4

These words will end, the voice that is being raised for these topics will not be uttered again, no action will be taken after tons of videos on this but that one thing that won’t stop i.e. – The unknown violence on women done on the name of culture and Quran and if the women will not come forward then no one can really take stand for them. They are the only solutions to their problems. They should come forward rather sitting and tolerating the violence which they should not. They can transform the lives of women.

Educating Muslim women around every corner will be a great help. The voices that are being suppressed from years will be raised. This should be the motive of every educated Muslim woman to educate other illiterate women so that a BIG change can be seen in the future.

The relationship between body shaming and social media

After some research what the scientists have said that women are likely to feel worse about their body after seeing the pictures of other women. The online images have bad effect on young women and it changes the way they feel about their bodies, the confidence vanishes away.

The edited and the filtered images have a bad impact on the minds of the young women nowadays. The social media has actually pressured women to fit into society’s definition of beauty and perfection. The views that they have for their bodies and what they feel about themselves changes because they are more into fakeness of the social media rather being into themselves.

2

The trends in social media change every day and so as the interests of the women. One day, social media will woe women to have big breasts and the other day, it will haunt women to have small breasts. The newest trend nowadays is to have a curvy body with a small waist. The new trends and the looks that come along into the society in what women tries to get into and feels ashamed if fails to fit into the society.

The social media is making women horribly uncomfortable which leads to low self-esteem and lack of confidence.

The social media targets women to suffer from body shaming and negativity. It leads to eating disorders among young girls in high school and the university.

If we take the plus-sized women’s example, ten years ago plus sized women typically ranged from size twelve to eighteen, now the size span ranges from size six to fourteen. The slim-slender women are called as “Models” but the chubby models are called as “plus-sized models” so why do the plus-sized models are not called as just “models”.

3

Social media has an impact on the mental as well as physical health of the women. The women have no idea that how Photoshop play a great role in editing and removing the flaws from the images of the models. In some ways, Graphic Designers are to blame for this uprising of smaller sized women posted all over the media. These people are hired by editors to make models or people look a specific way.

4

I strongly believe that if we try to inherit the looks and bodies of the models then we will be just robots, not what we actually are. If social media would try and produce more positive viewing of different body types, women would feel more comfortable and confident about the way they look. Social media plays a major role in our life now and women are considered nothing more than objects to social media, based on how their bodies are.

Social media needs to start taking into consideration the strong negative effects that influence societies the averaged sized women.

Every other celebrity goes through the shame situation after those ridiculous comments.

Sonam Kapoor shared her picture without makeup and what she said was remarkable-
